About Us

The club opened in 1983 with a few local and off island golfers and land donated by Jim Colquhoun. It started with a broken-down caravan as its club house and warm beer! Turned out it was a very popular club and still is, all volunteers doing the fairways and greens (as it still is today). Progress was slow but eventually a 2nd hand garage was purchased in Auckland, very cheap they said but it cost three times as much to put it up! We gradually got on top of things, and through the efforts of many different, and diverse committee members. There were a number of fantastic characters over the years, sadly a lot have passed on, and will continue to be missed.  So, with a great deal of hard work from members and some benefactors we have this great facility that is now our club house and 9-hole golf course.
